Being the reversed version of the SMALL2E, the SMALL2ER is a Fully Electric, multistack, and multiradius tube-bending machine with seven CNC axes designed for aluminium tubes with a diameter and a thickness of up to 20mm and 1.8 mm, respectively, with the right and left bending directions integrated into the cycle. Its upside-down layout simplifies the unloading of the processed tube, and its reduced size allows easy insertion into production lines and integrated work cells with little available space. Like the linear version, SMALL2ER is configured with an electrical arm and the C-axis’ main transmission directly under the bending plane. The head translates orthogonally. The reconfiguration from right to left occurs by toggling the positions of the slide unit and the clamp carriage according to their respective bending direction. The slide position blocking system prevents collisions during processing. The machine’s main movements take place on recirculating ball bearing guides and all the high quality components guarantee excellent overall performance and parts maximum availability. Quality, energy savings, and scraps minimisation during production phases combine with brief set-up/start up times. Like other machines in the Small series, SMALL2ER also features high production rates and the possibility to accommodate a broad array of accessories. The machine’s efficiency is guaranteed by the dynamics of the plane positioner which limits component damage in case of accidental collision. The machine can produce bends with CLR/DIA ratio of even lower than 0.8, therefore, it is suitable for sectors requiring high quality and repeatability. The three-dimensional graphical software UII “User ISO Interface” on a 19” LCD touch screen allows the operator to interact intuitively with the machine to program, simulate, and optimise the bending programs. The SMALL2ER is designed to integrate into the Smart Factory system.
